There are four kind of roads in India maintained by the government.
- National Highway
- State Highway
- District Highway
- Panchayaat Highway
Each of the above roads are identified by the color of the mile stones.
National Highway roads mile stones are colored in the combination of yellow and white
State Highway roads mile stones are colored in the combination of green and white
District Highway roads mile stones are colored in the combination of blue and white
Panchayaat Highway roads mile stones are colored in the combination of pink or black and white.
