Hello World DatagramSocket

In distributed applications model network/socket programming plays an vital role in exchanging the data.
We can write socket program in two ways ,One through TCP and another one through UDP. We are going to see about UDP communication.
This model is less network overhead than TCP.

We need to create server socket to send/receive the data. We can create server socket as like below.
DatagramSocket socket = new DatagramSocket(9500);

There is no need for port in sender and its only required in receiver side. Since i am combining sender and receiver i have created in generic way.Data is transmitted through data gram pocket which can be defined as like below. Datagram pocket contains the information about destination as well.Thats why IP address is required.Since i am running in localhost creating IP instance based on localhost.

String data="Hello Socket";
InetAddress ip = InetAddress.getByName("localhost");
DatagramPacket dp = new DatagramPacket(data.getBytes(), data.length(), ip, 9500);

In the receiver side we need to instantiate same server socket and receive the data using data gram pocket.

byte[] arr= new byte[1024];
 DatagramPacket dp = new DatagramPacket(arr,arr.length);
 try {
 } catch (IOException e) {
 String data = new String(dp.getData()).substring(0, dp.getLength());

Refer the complete running sample code below for example.

package com;

import java.io.IOException;
import java.net.DatagramPacket;
import java.net.DatagramSocket;
import java.net.InetAddress;

public class ServerSocket implements Runnable{

   static DatagramSocket socket = null;
     * @param args
     * @throws IOException
    public static void main(String[] args) throws IOException {
 String test="Hello Socket";
 socket = new DatagramSocket(9500);
 InetAddress ip = InetAddress.getByName("localhost");
 DatagramPacket dp = new DatagramPacket(test.getBytes(), test.length(), ip, 9500);
 System.out.println("Sending done");
 ServerSocket st= new ServerSocket();
 new Thread(st).start();
    public void run() {
 byte[] arr= new byte[1024];
 DatagramPacket dp = new DatagramPacket(arr,arr.length);
 try {
 } catch (IOException e) {
 String data = new String(dp.getData()).substring(0, dp.getLength());
      System.out.println("Running Thread "+data);

Sending done

LPG cylinder accidental insurance claim

 LPG cylinderconsumers have accidental insurance claim option and is governed by PSU Marketing Oil Companies (IndianOil, HPCL, BPCL/BharatGas) who act as Principals and provide Third Party Insurance cover to persons and properties. The terms are documented under “Public Liability Insurance Policies for accidents involving LPG”. OMC(Oil Marketing Companies) have another Insurance Policy called “Public Liability Policy for Oil Industries”. These policies taken by Indane LPG and PSU OMCs are Public Liability Policies, hence, do not concern any individual LPG customer.

Some of the important terms of this policy are:
  • No premium for any policy is collected from the customer by the distributors.
  • The claim amount is paid over to the Oil Company who turns it to the claimant/beneficiary.
  • The policy provides for claims on account of Legal Liability
Liability at Law for compensation:

Per Event : Rs. 50 Lakhs
Per Person : Rs. 10 Lakhs
Per Year : Rs. 100 Crore

Personal Accident cover to customers and property damage at customers’ registered premises:
Personal Accident: Rs. 5 Lakhs/person per event in case of death
Medical Expenses: Rs. 15 Lakhs/event (max Rs. 1 Lakh/person, immediate relief Rs. 25K/person)
Property Damage : Rs. 1 Lakh/event at authorized customers’ registered premises.
Per Year in aggregate: Rs. 8 Crore

NOTE:  A slight different monetary cover is provided by Indane LPG:

Personal Accident: Rs. 6 Lakhs/person per event in case of death
Medical Expenses: Rs. 30 Lakhs/event (max Rs. 2 Lakh/person, immediate relief Rs. 25K/person)
Property Damage : Rs. 1 Lakh/event at authorized customers’ registered premises.
Per Year in aggregate: Rs. 10 Crore

The Procedure to be followed by customers:
  • In case of an accident involving consumer’s installation, the supply distributor is advised on it.
  • When an accident is reported, the concerned Area Office investigates the cause of the accident. If the cause is found out to be of an LPG, the Area Office notifies the concerned Insurance Company and lodges claim with it.
  • Customers need not apply to the Insurance Company or directly contact them.
  • Customers are required to submit the original documents of these:
      1.  In case of Death: Death Certificate(s) and Post Mortem report(s)/Coroner’s    report/Inquest          report (whichever applicable).
      2.  In case of injuries: Medical Bills, Doctor’s Prescriptions, Discharge Card and any other     documents related to hospitalization of the victim.
  • In case of property damage, the Insurance Company sends its own Supervisor to assess the loss.
  • Claims are settled by the concerned Insurance Company based upon the merit of each case. Decisions are taken regarding the settlement of the claim as per provisioned by the Insurance Policies.
These terms are universal for all the Oil companies providing an LPG connection in India. Except for a few differences in the monetary cover of various companies, the terms and conditions of governance are one and the same for all companies.

Current booking availability in irctc

We prefer train journey due to comfort and less cost than other transport options, but now a days its very difficult to get the train tickets even when we book in advance.Most of us may not be known there is a last minute booking available in IRCTC called  "Current_Availability".
     When any train with reserved classes leaves for its destination, its charts are prepared 4 hours prior to its departure. So, when this chart is made, any vacant berths are put up for booking under “Current booking” status. The only condition is that the station of departure of a passenger should be the origin station of the train. The booking is open from the time of making charts to 15 minutes before the actual departure of the train. This system is better than the system of going through waiting lists because it provides you with a confirmed reserved ticket (if your boarding station is same as that of the origin of the train).

Let us, for instance, take the example of BLR-KCG Express (16569)

The train leaves at 8:35 p.m. Hence, the charts have been prepared by 4:35 p.m.the same day.

Now, it turns out that there are 119 seats vacant in the Sleeper coach. So, now if you login to the IRCTC site, you will find 119 seats for the Sleeper Coach under “Current Booking Availability”. If you wanted to go kacheguda we can  proceed to book a seat under this system.

Know your LPG cylinder expiry date

Nowadays we are all using LPG in day today life for mostly kitchen purpose.So we have to use the LPG in safe way to avoid the accidents.Most of us doesn't know that there is an expiry date for the LPG cylinder.Using the expired cylinder may lead to gas leakage and unwanted fire explosion.

So everyone should know the LPG cylinder expiry date also we should inform others if they not know.Expiry date written in any one alphabet letters A to D with any one number by using paints.You can see the date on the metal that connects the top ring and cylinder body.

Alphabet letters indicate the month and the number indicates the year

A    January to March
B    April to June
C    July to September
D    October to December

For example if it is C17 then your gas cylinder will be expired in 2017 September.

Even though if we did not specify the validation libraries it will take from default hibernate libs. This issue can be avoid by using correct libraries.

Windows shortcut to open restore point

Windows there could be a scenario we wanted to go back to previous version. Error would have happened due to wrong installation or something got corrupted internally. So in order to go back to previous version we can use restore point options in windows.We can use below shortcuts to open restore point wizard.

We can execute 'rstrui.exe' in run to open the wizard. Then based on our date range we can restore it to old state.

Unix/Solaris cron log location

We used to run cron jobs for repeated tasks. This cron jobs will be running in system level,In order to schedule cron jobs we need a root user access. Some time we might face some issues with cron jobs due to which tasks may not run. Any errors in cron getting logged in log file. We can find log files in below location.

In this location we can find the file "log".
